Furman University's Center for Theological Exploration of Vocation was established through a grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., in January, 2001. Directly serving students, faculty, alumni, and congregations with interest in faith and vocation, the Center also provides resources for the Greenville community through annual public lectures and community service projects.

The mission of the Center for Theological Exploration of Vocation is to provide resources for individuals and groups to reflect upon the theological assumptions underlying and influencing vocational choices. The Center will initiate opportunities for thoughtful and open dialogue among persons of differing disciplines and religious perspectives, while seeking to stimulate and inform social action.

A copy of Furman's original proposal to the Lilly Endowment is available for viewing and printing.
