Program Information Microscope, Kaleidoscope, Telescope The “scopes” program is founded upon the belief that children will thrive in an environment in which they are challenged to think and question, can be playful and imaginative. Please note the following enrollment policies: For Kaleidoscope, Microscope, and Telescope, a non-refundable deposit of $100 per session reserves a place for your child. Balance due and no refund one month prior to each individual camp session. Cancellation more than one month prior to session will refund tuition less the deposit. MICROSCOPE 2008 This full-day summer academic enrichment program with a science and nature focus is designed for rising first or second graders. Children participate daily in science, reading, art, music and outdoor sports. In addition to a structured schedule of “classroom” activities, there is also time for creek walks and quiet reflections, plus fun-and-tumble supervised games and daily swim time. Two sessions are two weeks in length and two sessions are one week in length.
KALEIDOSCOPE 2008 Bruce Cable, creative director, summer enrichment programs Join us for summer academic adventuring with outstanding teacher Bruce Cable in his imaginative programming for children. Kaleidoscope provides a never-ending variety of educational (science, social studies, the arts, foreign language) and recreational experiences (nature walks, daily swimming, outdoor games). In the same day, you may play a drum, design a power point presentation, hit a ball, learn a Spanish phrase, observe a chemistry demonstration and make a new friend. Young people (rising third, fourth and fifth graders) can come for one or more of the sessions. There are two sessions of two weeks and two sessions of one week in length.
TELESCOPE 2008 Debbi Long, Director/Teacher Telescope is for rising sixth, seventh and eighth graders. The program features classroom instruction which challenges thinking skills and creative problem-solving, while also including daily art, outdoor games and swimming. The goal of the program is greater middle school success, strengthened by expressing creativity, enriching interest areas and fostering cooperation and teamwork.
