Student Employment in the Furman Libraries

The Furman University Libraries employ about 60 student workers in a variety of areas, including circulation, document delivery, the music library, reference, and technical services. Preference in hiring is given to students who qualify for the federal work-study program. You can contact the Financial Aid Office for information about the work-study program. This office oversees all student positions on campus, and the library works closely with the office in hiring student workers.

Students who qualify for work-study may apply for positions at the James B. Duke Library, Maxwell Music Library or Science Library. Copies of job descriptions for all library student work positions are available at the circulation desk in the James B. Duke Library.

A limited number of positions are available during the summer to students who do not qualify for work-study. Ask at the library for details about positions available.
