Provide a comprehensive, integrated student experience which embraces learning, personal responsibility, leadership and service, and fosters the appreciation, respect and understanding of individual and cultural differences.

Explore
The introductory level of the Shucker Leadership Institute is designed
for 25 Freshmen and Sophomore students. It is a first step toward
becoming a student leader at Furman University. New Fellows meet in the fall term and then become Shucker Fellows in the spring.
In the New Fellow program, participants will attend interactive campus sessions that focus on the foundation of leadership.
The New Fellows will:
- Develop Self
- Seek opportunities
- Build personal capital
New Fellows will also attend a weekend retreat with interactive games
and activities to encourage bonding between fellow participants.
Ongoing involvement in the community is a vital part of the Shucker Leadership Institute experience. Increased involvement in campus life and exposure to new people and resources provide New Fellows with many opportunities for personal growth and development.
