Part-time internships during the academic year (for credit or experience). The Internship Office provides an on-line database of available internships in the Greenville area. |

3. Research the company or agency where you'd like to work using the website and any contacts within the organization to collect information |
| 4. If the organization has a formal internship program, review the application process and deadlines. If the organization does not list internships, meet with the Internship Office to develop an Internship Proposal. |

5. Prepare or update your resume. Prepare a cover letter. Submit your materials prior to the application deadline. HINT: some deadlines are as early as November 1. If you need assistance with your materials, Internship Resume Workshops are offered in the Fall semester and in January. |

| 1. Continue using the resources, researching options, making contacts and preparing materials as outlined above. |
| 2. Complete any interviews requested (by telephone or in person) and write a thank you note to the interviewer. |
| 3. Accept the internship offer and finalize the internship by requesting a confirmation letter or e-mail from the organization. |
| 4. If your internship meets the requirements for the Furman Advantage Program, complete the Student Section of the Furman Advantage Application and submit it to the Internship Office by the deadline (early March). |
| 5. Request that the organization complete the Company section of the Furman Advantage Application. |
| 6. Request that your faculty sponsor complete the Faculty Section of the Furman Advantage Application. |

| 1. When you have received both the completed Company and Faculty sections, submit the completed Furman Advantage Application to the Internship Office. |

2. The Furman Advantage Committee will meet in late March and early April to review the applications and determine if they are approved and the amount of the stipend awarded. Students will be notified of the status of their application. |
