Football tickets for sale
As is customary, university faculty and staff and their immediate family will receive complimentary admission to 2005 home football games. Single employees are eligible to receive two free tickets. All seating for these tickets is located in section one. Employees must present their university identification on game day to receive the tickets. The Athletic Department also offers season ticket packages for reserved (chair back) seats for $48 per game. Reserve seating is located in sections two, four and eight.
The Paladins play five home games this year. To purchase reserved tickets, contact the ticket office 294-3099 by August 23.
Duke grant to support scholarships, first-year seminars
The Duke Endowment has awarded Furman three grants totaling $4.3 million. A grant of $2 million will go toward increasing the number of endowed James B. Duke Scholarships at the university, while another $2 million is earmarked to create an endowment in support of first-year seminars for students. The remaining $300,000 will be used to create a “presidential leadership” discretionary fund.
The Duke Scholarships provide financial aid to some of the university’s most academically gifted students. The proposal for a first-year seminar program is currently under development, and is contingent on faculty approval in the fall.
