Furman Rugby Stadium

Next fall, Furman rugby will celebrate our 10-year anniversary.
To be
sure, the program has come a long way during that time. The men’s
team has won three national and four South titles in compiling a 109-36
record. The women are 47-45 and have one South runner-up title.
Along the way, we developed a reputation as one the top small-college rugby
programs in the nation.
To celebrate this milestone, the club is raising funds to construct the first-ever rugby-only college stadium in the Southeast. The yet-to-be-named facility will feature restrooms, utilities, storage and expanded seating for more than 500.
The centerpiece of this project will be a “FROG and Friends” plaza. This area will include pavers with the engraved named of alumni and friends who have contributed $1,000 or more to this project. During their February meeting University Trustees approved a university master plan that includes the rugby stadium and gave the club permission to proceed with fundraising.
The projected cost of this project is approximately $200,000. To date, we have gathered commitments for more than $50,000 from a handful of parents and more than a dozen rugby alumni. Now were are looking for rugby fans, players, parents, alumni, friends and sponsors and help bridge this gap and make this dream become reality.
We have a variety of giving levels for both individual and corporate sponsorship. Your gift to Furman Rugby is tax deductible. You may pledge online or contact Coach John Roberts for more information.

Giving Levels
(donationations may be spread over five-year period)
$1,000 ($200
a year or $16 a month)
A Furman brick in the FROG and friends plaza with your name engraved. “John
Doe ’05”
$5,000 ($1,000
a year or $83 per month)
Name will be engraved on a large 10-year commemorative bronzed plaque that
will be mounted on the back of the stands. Some of our alumni and many of
our parents would be able to give at this level.
$10,000
Plans for the stadium include encasing it, similar to the soccer stadium,
with brick columns (about 3-4 feet high) connected by wrought iron fencing.
This gift would name a column. For example, a parent might do this in honor
of their child. The plaque on the column might read: Given in honor of John
Doe by his parents. This would be a special tribute for their rugby child
as the name would be a permanent part of the stadium.
$50,000
Naming rights for scoreboard. This name would be displayed prominently with
large lettering, mounted on brick, below the scoreboard.
$100,000
Naming rights for field.
$125,000
Naming rights for stadium.
