One step to a healthier you

Do you wish you had more energy? Would you like to be more active but can't find the time? Are you tired of struggling with your weight? Do you need an incentive to make changes in your lifestyle habits?

The Furman Fitness Center has exciting new programs designed with your needs in mind:

• Learn how to train smarter with our Time Crunch Fitness Seminar Series.

• Relax and rejuvenate after work with our invigorating Yoga Fit classes.

• Enjoy great food and speakers at our Healthy Eating Luncheons.

• Lose weight for good with the LEARN Program.

These and other programs can increase your energy, motivate you to be active, provide workout companionship and instruct you in the joys and benefits of a wellness lifestyle.

Most of these programs are conducted in the Herman W. Lay Physical Activities Center, which houses a 6,000-square-foot Fitness Center with a complete complement of cardio and resistance training equipment, a dance studio, a gym and a six-lane, 25-yard swimming pool.

All Furman employees are eligible to use these facilities. For your convenience, the building is scheduled to be open year round. Visit the Health and Exercise Science Web Page for information on the building's schedule, facilities and program information.

A list of upcoming events and programs is also located in the hardcopy of Inside Furman . Keep an eye out for upcoming Wellness Programs in the December, February and May issues. These programs are open to all Furman faculty, staff, and dependents. Most are free or at low cost to you.

Making even a small change can vitalize your life. Take the first step today.

Kelly Frazier is a Lecturer in the Department of Health and Exercise Science. She coordinates the Furman Fitness Center Wellness Programs and the Group Exercise Classes.
