Bell Tower featured on cover of telephone book
If you’ve received your telephone book in the mail, you’ve probably noticed a familiar building on the cover – the Furman Bell Tower.
Charlie Register’s photograph of the tower and another photo of the Reedy River Falls appear on the front cover of Bellsouth’s "The Real Yellow Pages." The 1998 cover features an artist rendering and actual photograph of the Bi-Lo Center.
Paul Wikensimer, a spokesman for the company, said Bellsouth chose the photographs over others submitted for their local appeal. More than 400,000 copies of the new directory will be distributed to residents and businesses in Greenville County throughout October.
