What’s new on the Web

Alumni and media interested in news-related activities at Furman have a new bookmark: The Furman News Page.

Designed and maintained by the Office of Marketing and Public Relations, the site was launched in April. The page, which is accessible from the Furman home page, is updated every Friday with fresh stories, links and photographs. Its features include a "top story," links to Furman-related on-line news stories, and a "photo of the week" by university photographer Charlie Register.

The Furman news page also includes a spotlight feature on an interesting Furman student, alumnus or employee, current Greenville weather conditions and a listing of upcoming on-campus activities in a "This Week on Campus" column.

An events calendar, Inside Furman On-line and a news release archive are all linked from the news page.

"We put a considerable amount of time and thought into the design of our on-line news page," says Vince Moore, news service director. "The result is a site that we think is both aesthetically pleasing and functional."
