Welcome Center to open in October

College recruiting in the new millennium — It's highly technical, full of bells and whistles and custom-designed with individual students in mind.  And it arrives at Furman this fall when the Welcome Center opens.

Furman hosts 72 groups, 7,000 people during summer "break"

When the last athletic camps and professional conferences depart in August and Furman prepares to welcome its undergraduates back to campus, the summer of 2000 will probably be remembered for its "firsts."

Construction update

There are more than 10 construction projects being conducted at Furman this summer including a massive undertaking that will connect cooling systems throughout campus to a yet-to-be completed central plant.  Piping for the system is currently being installed this summer (right).

Falcons return to campus July 13

The Atlanta Falcons, who return to campus this month for training camp, could become a summer fixture at Furman.

River Basin Initiative represents university’s largest ever research project

If you’ve happened by Plyler Hall this summer, you’ve probably seen them.  Furman students – and even some professors – clad in shorts, boots and T-shirts, carrying strange equipment. Most of the time they are either, wet, dirty or both.
