New athletic field under construction
The grass parking lot adjacent to Timmons Arena and Paladin Stadium is being converted to an athletic field.
Workers will irrigate the rough grassy area, which is larger than a football field, this spring. Bermuda grass will be planted, and the field should be completed in July.
The Atlanta Falcons will use the field during their summer training camp. The field will continue to be used for parking during home football games and other large university events.
