The Furman Forum

What do you think should be Furman’s top priority with funds raised through the capital campaign?

“Our number one priority should be to improve facilities, particularly in the sciences. We have good equipment here but are lacking in bricks and mortar and appearance. Faculty and staff compensation is also a big issue that needs to be addressed.”

Moses Lee, Chemistry

“The school’s education. We should use more money for textbooks, computers and other teaching tools.”

Stacy Price, Public Safety

“Air conditioning in the PAC. The heat in there during the summer is absolutely horrendous.”

Bill Truman, Facilities Services

“I think one of the top priorities should be the endowment. In terms of facilities, there has been very little done to the library and we are lacking for space in that area. Also, the PAC (Physical Activities Center) is in need of air conditioning. It is almost unbearable in there during the summer.”

Don Aeisi, Political Science

“We need to really address student needs with those funds. I think, for example, that there is a real need for more computer labs on campus.”
