Assumptions of the Acropolis Awards

Interaction with other students helps personal development.
Interaction with Faculty members is beneficial.
Interaction in educational activities improves student performance.
Positive reinforcement will produce better results than negative reinforcement.
A Greek organization can be a learning community.

Purpose Statement for the Acropolis Awards

The Acropolis Awards proposes that its reward system based upon programming done in the residence halls will increase interaction amongst the Greek community, students and faculty members, and thus will create a more broadly involved and educated Greek community.

The Acropolis Awards Program

RA leads either a community service, educational, or social program
Points based upon percentage of members in attendance (Hall members only)
- 1%-25% = 5 points
- 26%-50% = 10 points
- 51%-75% = 15 points
- 76%-100% = 20 points

Additional Considerations
- Faculty Involvement in program = additional 10 points.
- Housing violations = 2 point deduction per violation.
- Chapters GPA at the end of the Fall and Winter terms = 1^st Place receives 20 points, 2^nd Place receives 10 points, 3^rd Place receives 5 points, all others receive 1 point.
- Chapter Community Service Hours at the end of the Fall and Winter terms, and up to the 3^rd Monday of April = 1^st Place receives 20 points, 2^nd Place receives 10 points, 3^rd Place receives 5 points, all others receive 1 point.

The Acropolis Award winner will earn a prize determined by Housing & Residence Life.
