Committee on Due Process
Report 2007-2008

The Committee on Due Process met twice during the Academic year: on November 15, 2007, and on January 10, 2008. The Committee’s work for the year, accomplished mainly by email, was directed at drafting a revised Policy 131.5 (policy on Due Process) and revisions to relevant sections of Articles V and VI of the Constitution. Our work was in response to a request, made several years ago, to the Committee on Due Process by the Policies and Procedures Committee and the Faculty Status Committee, for a revised Policy 131.5. Committee on Due Process completed a draft of the revisions in question and submitted it to the Faculty Status Committee on February 19, 2008.

I wish to thank the members of the committee for their careful and thoughtful work. Thanks also to Duncan McArthur, whose work towards revising this policy in 2006-2007 served as the starting point for our efforts.
