Academic Policies Committee
Minutes – September 25, 2007
Present: Ken Abernethy, Brad Barron, Robin Visel, Linda Bartlett, Ben Able, John Harris (recording), Kristy Maher, Dan Koppelman
The meeting was called to order at 3:00 pm.
The minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
Ken Abernethy shared his conversation with Kevin Treu regarding the posting of proposals for everyone on the Course Proposal System. Kevin thinks that this would be fairly easy to do.
Ken suggested that he make the proposals available for download (separate from the Course Proposal System) before the next faculty meeting. The committee thought this was a good idea, since changes to the CPS would be difficult to accomplish in the short time available.
The committee revisited the ENG 471 proposal, and considered supplemental information provided by the proposal’s author. The committee recommended approval of this course for World Cultures credit. (The Analysis of Texts category had been considered at the previous meeting.)
The committee revisited the MLL (FR) 415 and the ENG 461 proposals, and considered supplemental information provided by the proposals’ authors. The committee recommended approval of these courses for Analysis of Texts credit.
The committee recommended the following courses for Human Behavior credit.
HES 221
