Furman is pleased to host the 2006 Rugby South Tournament April 1-2  Please check this page frequently for updated information.  We have secured two pitches for this event.  All of Sunday games and most of the games Saturday will be held on Furman's main rugby pitch.  Some Saturday game s will be held on north recreation field.  Both are indicated on the map below.

CHECK-IN
Teams will be required to arrive at least two hours before thier first contest for check in.  Jeff Smolka (Rugby South Collegiant Director) will conduct this check-in, which will be located in DeSantis Pavilloin (see map)

HOTEL OF CHOICE
A large block of rooms for this event have been reserved at the Quality Inn, which is off Plesantburg Drive and is located 10- minutes from campus.  When you call, PLEASE be sure to them you are with the RUGBY TOURNAMENT to get the rate.  The telephone number is 864.271.0060.

CONCESSIONS
The Furman teams will have a concessions booth set up near the pitch and will be selling grilled food, gatorade and tournament t-shirts.

WARM-UP AREAS
There are two warm up areas near the pitch: a field next to Timmons Arena and a grassy area in front of the football stadium.  See the map. DO NOT get on the football practice fields.

TRAINER
A trainer will be available both days to assist with taping ankles, but you must provide your own tape.  The trainer will have a table next to concessions.

SHOWERS/Restrooms
Teams wil have access to showers and restrooms, which are located in the PAC (see map).  Be sure to remove your boots before entering this facility.  Bring your own and towell and clean up after yourself.  Bathrooms will also be open in the DeSantis Pavillion.
