Prop |
Props are normally the larger, bulkier, and sturdier players. They do a lot of pushing and shoving in the scrum, much like offensive lineman, and are considered the workhorses of the team. |

Hooker |
The Hooker is usually the smallest pack player, due to the demand for agility at the position. He/she is responsible for throwing the ball in lineouts and controling the game tempo of the pack. Additionally, the hooker is a very vocal player. |

Lock (2nd Row) |
These are generally the tallest players on the team. They are responsible for pushing in the scrums and jumping in line-outs. |

Flanker (Wing Forward) |
These players are positioned on the outside of the scrum and normally make the first tackle out of it, therefore they are normally quick, aggressive, and large with good tackling skills. |

8th Man |
This player is generally the leader of the Pack and the best all-around athlete (or most experienced player) on the team. |

Scrum-Half |
This is the quarterback of the team. He/she must be small, quick, vocal, scrappy, and an excellent passer. |

Fly-Half |
This player must have good field vision and awareness and generally is the best kicker on the team. |

|
Weak Side Wing |
Wings are generally the fastest runners and excellent ball handlers. |

|
Inside Center |
Centers are the hardest runners on the team and must be excellent tacklers. |

Outside Center |
