Tournament officials John Roberts is coordinating this year's tournament while Mike Cobb will serve as tournament director. John Meyers is the head referee.
Field/Concessions We will again have two full-size pitches available for this weekend. Teams will also have access to lockers and showers Saturday. The Physical Activities Center will be closed Sunday due to a planned power outage. Concessions and t-shirts will also be available.
BRACKETS Mike Cobb has bracketed the games so that every team has at least 90 minutes to rest between matches. He also scheduled Coastal, who has the longest to travel, for the later game.

| GA All-stars are not eligible to win championship
Tournament format and tie-breakers
MEN'S CLUB BRACKET There will be 2 matches for each team, and the matches will be played with 30 minute halfs. The Georgia all-stars will play Charleston, and then the loser of the Greenville vs. Columbia match. A tie will stand in the Charleston vs. Georgia match, but if the Greenville vs. Columbia match ends in a tie then they will play two extra 5 minute halfs. If still tied after that, each team will pick one of their players to try and win a kickoff. Each player will kick a drop goal from behind the center of the 22 meter line. The team's player who misses the kick loses the match. If both players make the kick, then they will each kick again until someone misses the kick in that round. If both players miss then each player will kick again until only one player makes the kick in one of the rounds.
MEN'S COLLEGE BRACKET There will be 2 pools of 3 teams who will play both the other teams in their pool to decide who is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in that pool. The 3rd place teams from each pool will play for 5th place on Sunday, with the 2nd?s playing for 3rd, and the 1st?s playing for tournament champions. Every team will play 3 matches total over the 2 days with the matches being played with 25 minute halfs. All ties in pool play and Sunday?s matches will stand except for the final which will have 2 extra 5 minute halfs if the match ends in a tie. If the match is still tied they will play until the next team scores, or 10 minutes which ever comes first. If the match is still tied, each team will pick one of their players to try and win a kickoff. Each player will kick a drop goal from behind the center of the 22 meter line. The team?s player who misses the kick loses the match. If both players make the kick, then they will each kick again until someone misses the kick in that round. If both players miss then each player will kick again until only one player makes the kick in one of the rounds.
Pool placement (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) will be decided in this order: 1) By wins and loses. 2) If two teams have the same record then ?Head to Head? (who beat who) 3) If that was a tie than point difference against the other team in the pool. (Your score ? their score = Point diff) 4) If that was a tie than each team will pick one of their players to try and win a kickoff. Each player will kick a drop goal from behind the center of the 22 meter line. The team?s player who misses the kick loses the match. If both players make the kick, then they will each kick again until someone misses the kick in that round. If both players miss then each player will kick again until only one player makes the kick in one of the rounds If all three teams are tied in wins and loses after pool play then ?Point Difference? will be used from those two matches. (Your total score in those 2 matches ? their scores in those two matches = point difference). If two teams are tied after doing this, then option #2 above will be the starting point for this tie breaker until it is broken.
WOMEN'S BRACKET This bracket will play a round robin (Everybody plays everybody) over 2 days. Each team will play 3 matches total over the 2 days, with all the matches being 25 minute halfs. All ties will stand. Final tournament standing will be decided by: 1) Overall standings 2) If tied, ?Head to Head? 3) If tied, "Point Difference" against the other 2 teams. (Your score against both ? their scores against you = Point Diff) 4) If tied, each team will pick one of their players to try and win a kickoff. Each player will kick a drop goal from behind the center of the 22 meter line. The team?s player who misses the kick loses the match. If both players make the kick, then they will each kick again until someone misses the kick in that round. If both players miss then each player will kick again until only one player makes the kick in one of the rounds. If three or more teams are tied in wins and loses then Point Difference? will be used from all matches played. (Your total score in all the matches ? all the other teams scores in those matches = point difference). If two teams are tied after doing this, then option #2 above will be the starting point for this tie breaker until it is broken.
Referees John Meyers will serve as head referee. Other tournament officials include Platt, Busch. Clarlisle and Shepherd.
Hotel of choice The Sleep Inn in Travelers Rest has blocked rooms for this event. The inn is located less than two miles from the university at 110 Hawkins Road, which is off Hwy 25. The number there is 864.834.7040. Tell then you are with the rugby tournament. All teams are encouraged to use this hotel because we will have shuttle service (see below) that can transport players to the social.
If the Sleep Inn gets booked (they may have limited availability for Friday), try the Hampton Inn (across the street) at 864.834.5550.
Social Furman, or course, cannot officially sponsor a party. But we have made arrangements for everyone to gather at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria on 23 W. Wahington Street (which is just a block off Main Street) in downtown Greenville. For ruggers that are of age, they will have special drink rates. We have also arranged for a shuttle service. A bus will pick up the players AT THE SLEEP INN to transport downtown at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. The shuttle will also pick up players from Barley 's to transport back to the SLEEP INN at 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. The shuttle bus is not large enough to carry everyone. Everyone planning to partake in the festivities downtown should plan to ride the shuttle or plan to have a designated driver. Be resonsible. Barleys is a two-floor restaurant. Rugby players will have the run of the upstairs. There is a costume party at the Barley's with cash prizes so bring a costume if you are so inclined. Those under the age of 21 can be admitted to Barley's, but only those 21 and over may be admitted upstairs.
