Meeting More Demonstrated Financial Need
The most important goal of the campaign is to make a Furman education accessible to more deserving students by providing more financial aid and reducing the amount of loans that families must incur to finance a Furman education.
_________________________________________Established in 1998, Furman Partners is a unique program that links university donors and students in the education process. Through Partners, you may support deserving Furman students through annually funded or endowed scholarships.
Partners is a personalized program in which you name the scholarship and specify the type of students you are interested in supporting. Selection criteria might be based on financial need or academic excellence. Or you might specify students from a particular geographic area, major area of study or religious faith. You, the donor, decide.
A vital element of Furman Partners is the relationships that it fosters. You are encouraged to meet and befriend your scholarship recipients. Two on-campus events each year honor Partners donors and scholars. You will get to know your students' interests and aspirations. More importantly, you'll see them graduate. And one day, they may reach out to another as you have reached out to them.
A gift through Partners isn't just giving money to the university. It's giving the university to students.

Mrs. Rinker discusses the merits of Furman Partners: "Furman’s Partners scholarship program is unique in its concept of personally linking students and scholarship donors. We feel it’s a win-win situation. The students are bright and full of promise. They need the education that Furman can provide, but they also need financial assistance as well as the guidance and moral support. For us, the Partner donors, it’s a tremendous blessing to watch these students grow into young men and women with so much to offer our society. What a thrill it is to know you had a small part in their development."
