HOW TO APPLY FOR SUMMER FINANCIAL AID

Loans are the only financial aid options available to students for summer terms. Please be advised that summer school is the beginning of the new academic year. Therefore, any federal funds that are used for summer will be deducted from what you are eligible to receive for the fall and spring semesters of the 2008-2009 academic year.

There are two (2) types of loans for which you may apply for the 2008 summer semesters:

• Federal Stafford Loan
• Alternative Loan

If you are applying for a Federal Stafford loan for summer, you must be enrolled at least half-time or six (6) hours and you must complete the following:

• Complete the FAFSA for the 2008-2009 year online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Include Furman's Title IV code - 003434.
• Loan Certification Form
