Charles Tompkins

Charles Tompkins, keyboard division coordinator, leads an active and multifaceted program of Organ Studies at Furman in addition to supervising the Church Music degree program. Dr. Tompkins is an active recitalist, performing each year at major universities and churches throughout the United States. He has been a featured performer on American Public Radio's Pipedreams, and is heard each Sunday morning as organist of Greenville's historic First Baptist Church, where he presides over a magnificent 4-manual, 86-rank Casavant organ. Dr. Tompkins has performed recitals and presented workshops for regional and national conventions of the American Guild of Organists, the Music Teachers National Association, and the College Music Society.
