Ron Schwartz

A native of Sacramento, California, percussionist Ron Schwartz has been performing jazz and popular music for over 40 years throughout the United States. He spent a number of years as a studio musician in Los Angeles before settling in South Carolina. He has performed with an impressive diversity of musicians, including pop musicians Jose Feliciano, Kim Carnes, Duane Eddy, Larry Knectel, Mike Botts, David Ragsdale, as well as jazz musicians Larry Coryell, Jon Faddis, Chris Vadala, Jon Metzger, Larry Koonse, Barry Green, and Jon Stowell. Ron also had record deals with both RCA Records and Capitol Records and appeared on The Tonight Show, The Merv Griffin Show, and The Tim Conway Comedy Hour.

Ron has also been active as a record producer. He produced the Boys Choir of Harlem recording Schubert and Spirituals, the Los Angeles-based Acoustic Jazz Quartet recording Origins, and recordings for the Atlanta-based acid jazz group PDQ, Greenville-based rock group Sir Presto, and Nashville-based artists Amy Hall and Eddie Bush.

Ron is also very busy as a teacher. He serves on the jazz studies faculty at Furman University and has a very successful private teaching practice in Greenville, South Carolina. His students have gone on to enjoy very successful careers in the music business.
