Paula Riddle
Paula Riddle is an active performer throughout the Southeast. She
is Principal Horn of the Hendersonville Symphony and a section member of the South Carolina Philharmonic, the Augusta Symphony
and performs regularly with the Greenville Symphony. She received
her Masters degree from the University of Cincinnati’s college
conservatory of music in 1996. During her time in Cincinnati, Mrs.
Riddle maintained a successful pre-college horn studio and performed
as a freelance musician. She is currently teaching studio horn at
the Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities as well as
studio horn, chamber music and Music Appreciation courses at Furman.
Mrs. Riddle’s teaching background is varied, having taught K5-college
level. She is also involved in the Tanglewood Arts Integration project;
which fuses the arts and core subjects together. She feels that the
arts are a key component of learning. “Through the arts children
can express themselves in a way that allows learning to occur where
there may never have been an opening.” Because Mrs. Riddle believes
that learning is a continuous process, professional collaboration,
masterclass evaluation and symposium participation are integral components
of her studio experience.
