Hopkins
joined the Furman University woodwind
faculty in 1997. Born and raised in South Carolina, Miss Hopkins earned
both her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Music from the University
of South Carolina. Since that time, Miss Hopkins has studied with
prestigious artists around the country while maintaining a private
studio as well as a professional playing career.
Consistently
performing in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings, Miss Hopkins
has made it a priority to lead her students in the areas of work ethic
and artistry. A dedicated teacher, she uses diversity in learning
is a primary goal of the studio, with emphasis on reading and listening,
as well as solo performance and orchestral study. To grow fully, flute
students are encouraged to study from master classes in the US and
abroad.
Miss
Hopkins currently resides in Columbia, S.C. where she is a member
of the South Carolina Philharmonic,
the Augusta Symphony,
The Columbia Flute and Harp Duo, and Quintet Carolina. She has maintained
a private studio for 18 years out of her home, and is dedicated to
the outcome of our future artists and teachers.
