Trudy Hines Fuller
Trudy Fuller, Vocal Studies Coordinator, began teaching voice
at Furman after completing her doctorate in vocal performance at the
University of Arizona in 1983. Her operatic roles have included such
diverse roles as Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Hansel in Hansel
and Gretel, and Augusta in The Ballad of Baby Doe. She participated
in San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program, Chicago Lyric Opera’s
Opera School (now the American Center for Young Artists), Central
City Opera’s apprentice program, and has appeared with the Houston
Grand Opera. She can be heard singing the role of Alisa on a CD of
Chicago Lyric Opera’s Lucia di Lammermoor with Sutherland and
Pavarotti in the leading roles (Bella Voce 107.218). She has appeared
with the Hendersonville (NC) Symphony singing Elgar’s Sea Pictures,
and with the Greenville (SC) Chorale and Symphony in Beethoven’s
Mass in C and Ninth Symphony. In June of 2003 she received Furman
University’s Meritorious Teaching Award.
