Join the Lakeside Concert Band to celebrate the Sounds of Summer, Thursday
evenings, 7:30 pm. Relax in the lakeside amphitheater and enjoy a cross-section
of Big Band, Jazz, International, Contemporary, Marches and Orchestral
favorites. The cost will also be music to your ears – All concerts
are FREE. Restrooms and handicap parking available. Rain location: McAlister Auditorium. Read our HISTORY.

& Orchestra Camp
2008: June 15-20, Sunday - Friday
LEARN MORE
For students ages 12-18 with appropriate concert band and orchestral string instrument experience. Students participate
in large ensembles, small ensembles, master classes and sectionals supplemented
by daily recreational and social activities. Private lessons are available
for an additional fee.
Summer
Keyboard Institute
2008: June 22-27
LEARN MORE
For students ages 12 - 18 performing standard piano or organ repertoire at an intermediate level. Students may attend as residents or commuters. Students select primary
and secondary areas of study, participating in small group classes, master
classes, student recitals, faculty recitals and special topic sessions
supplemented by daily recreational and social activities.
Private lessons
with the institute faculty are available for an additional fee.

Carolina Suzuki Institute 2008

The only program of its type in the state, the South Carolina Suzuki Institute offers
an opportunity for students, parents and teachers to observe, study and
improve their knowledge of and skills in the Suzuki music instructional Method. For:
Suzuki-trained string and piano students, from Twinkle through Book 10. An advanced non-Suzuki program is available for young teens who have graduated from Suzuki Book 6.
Older teens may wish to consider attending the Furman Band and Orchestra Camp.
SSA certified teacher workshops and training sessions available. Certification details available at Suzuki Association of the Americas <http://www.suzukiassociation.org/ >.
Parents of children 12 and under must attend all sessions with their student. Teens 13 and older housing on campus may attend without a parent and under counselor supervision. Teens not housing on campus may attend as day-campers, checking in and out with the faculty counselor. |
