FURMAN SINGERS
The Furman Singers, under the direction of Dr. Bingham Vick, Jr. comprises
one of the oldest and most cherished of Furman's musical traditions. Long regarded
as some of the University's most effective ambassadors, the Singers tour annually
throughout the country. In addition, they have been invited to sing at numerous
professional convocations, including both regional and national conventions
of the American Choral Directors Association. Recent tours have included concerts
at Riverside Church in New York City and at Spivey Hall in Atlanta. In addition
to touring in this country, the Singers travel to Europe every other summer,
and have presented concerts in some of the most historically significant church
settings in more than a dozen European countries.
Through its tradition of consistently outstanding concerts The Furman Singers
has won a well-deserved reputation for well-prepared, diverse and artfully executed
programs. Membership is by competitive audition and is open to all Furman students.
