Young Democrats of South Carolina

The Young Democrats of South Carolina is a non-profit organization founded in January of 2003. Following the election losses of 2002, a handful of people stood up with energy, passion, and a desire to promote change in politics to direct loss into opportunity. In March of 2003, 100 bright, young minds came together to plan a strategy for success. They divided the state into regions, holding "friend-raisers" where young people have the opportunity to meet and greet each other, as well as local, state, and national leaders. Our goal as Young Democrats is to excite existing Democrats and to engage potential Democrats through social events and service opportunities. In a year, our membership has grown from 5 to 1300 with the spirit of Young South Carolina Democrats and the guidance of Young at Heart South Carolina Democrats.
