Comprehensive introduction to psychology as a behavorial science through a survey of historical, empirical and theoretical perspectives of psychological research. Topics may include biological bases of behavior, development, learning, personality, cognition, perception, motivation, behavior disorders and social psychology.

Human Development
Study of the mental, physical, social and emotional life of the individual throughout the life span, with primary emphasis on child development, developmental processes and changes that take place in the course of aging. Pertinent research in various aspects of development is reviewed. A student may not receive credit for both Psychology 23 and Education 20.

Social Psychology
Prerequisite: Psychology 21
Study of individual human behavior as it affects and is affected by other people in social interaction. Topics include the self, attitudes, group dynamics, prejudice, interpersonal relationships, impression formation, attribution, aggression and prosocial behavior. A group research project is an important aspect of this course.

Behavior Disorders
An introduction to the study of psychopathology. Topics covered include the definition, assessment and classification of psychopathology, a survey of the types of disorders, their etiologies, symptoms, and treatments.

Industrial Psychology
An exploration of the theoretical and practical applications of psychology to the world of work including personnel selection and placement, testing, training, leadership, motivation and special problems such as accidents, alcohol and drugs.
