WELCOME, NEW STUDENTS

The Continuing Education Department is pleased to welcome you to Furman University. We hope you will call upon us when you have questions. To assist you in making the transition to Furman, we have designed this simple page to help you find your way around campus and around Undergraduate evening Studies.

Network Accounts/Moodle Account Information:

The Assistant Director of Continuing Education acquires Network Accounts for all UES students upon matriculation to the program. To get this information call Brett Barclay at 864-294-3160. Any questions about getting access to campus computers, such as library resources can be addressed at that time.

Network Accounts and Moodle Accounts use the same username and password. For courses you are taking that have a Moodle component, simple use the Network username and password to access course materials. The Moodle Login location can be found at:
Courses.furman.edu or just click on the Moodle Icon below - also located on the UES homepage.

WebAdvisor/(ARMS) - Advising and Registration Made Simple:

WebAdvisor is an online tool for Furman students providing information on academic progress, financial aid, grade and academic summary information and more. You can log on to Web Advisor Here, there is also a link on the UES Homepage. Instructions on how to obtain a WebAdvisor password and use this tool can be found here: WebAdvisor Instructions

Academic Advising, Course Scheduling and Academic Assistance:

Academic advising and future course planning can be scheduled with Brett Barclay by calling 864-294-3160 or by e-mailing brett.barclay@furman.edu. We encourage students to get advised each semester or as often as questions arise. We strive to make advising and planning as convenient as possible for working students; as such, e-mail, phone and face to face advising is available at the discretion of the student. Please let us know what is most convenient for you.

Many students find that with certain course subjects that they have not studied for a while, some assistance is needed to get caught up and to understand course material. As a UES student, all academic services such as The Furman University Academic Assistance department is here to serve you with your academic needs. In addition, tutors can be acquired, free of charge, by using the online Tutor Request Form. Please take advantage of this valuable service as you see fit.

For some students, a simple plan and access to academic tools is necessary to get the semester off to a good start. For confidential, one-on-one assistance with these issues, please contact Brett Barclay at 864-294-3160. Your academic success is our primary concern.


Registration:

New schedules typically post 30-45 days prior to the first day of classes for that semester. It is recommended that students get advised prior to selecting their courses however it is not compulsory. Registration materials are mailed to students' homes at this time and include:

Students should complete the registration form as far in advance of the beginning of the semester and seek assistance or advising if needed. Please remember that the UES staff is here to offer support and assistance with any question you may have and we will be as flexible as possible in order to accommodate you.

Parking Stickers:

Parking Stickers can be acquired by logging on to Web Advisor and clicking on the Vehicle Registration link and filling out the online registration form. A vehicle registration sticker will be mailed to your home free of charge. Parking is available to UES students in the lot adjacent to the chapel. See map above for details. You may also download one HERE and mail it to the address on the form.


Furman University Student ID Card:

Student ID cards may be acquired after you register for your first semester by going to the Student Business office located in Furman Hall. The UES contact person for ID cards is Ms. Sandra Silvers. You may also e-mail Ms. Silvers at sandra.silvers@furman.edu. A picture (jpeg) file is required for Ms. Silvers to make your ID card.
