
2008 Commencement Information
Q. I graduated from Furman. Can I get a ticket?
A. Due to limited seating, Commencement we cannot issue any tickets to the public.
Q. What if it rains?
A. Commencement will be moved to Timmons Arena. Due to limited seating only
graduating students, their guests and faculty will be admitted. Tickets issued to staff and most other guests will not be honored. Others may watch a live broadcast of the ceremony that will be televised in the Watkins Room and Burgiss Theater (both in the University Center) and in McAlister Auditorium. Tickets will not be needed for admission in these three venues.
Q. When will I know if Commencement has been moved to Timmons?
A. A decision will be made by the White House and posted on our website by 5PM

Q. I have a ticket but find I am unable to attend. Can I give my ticket to someone else?
A. No. Each ticket will be assigned a name and a photo ID will be required at the door.
The name on the ticket and the photo ID must be the same.
Q. Can anyone pick up my tickets for me?
No. You must bring your Furman ID with you to pick up your tickets.
Q. Where do I pick up my tickets?
A. Students: University Center
Staff: Marketing & Public Relations in Montague Village
Faculty: Provost's Office.
Other groups learn where to pick up their tickets through email.
Q. What date/time can I pick up my tickets?
A. Thursday May 29 and Friday May 30 from 9AM to 4PM.
Q. I'm on staff and working Commencement. Can I give my ticket to someone else?
A. No. Each ticket will be assigned a name and a photo ID will be required at the door.
The name on the ticket and the photo ID must be the same.
Q. My child is too young for a photo ID. What do I do?
A. If and individual is too young for a driver's permit, a photo ID will not be required.
Q. May I bring a camera?
A. Yes. But it will examined at the security checkpoint.
Q. May I bring water with me into the stadium?
A. With the exception of medicine or baby formula, no liquids will be allowed inside the stadium. Water will be provided free of charge to attendees.
