Under the direction of the chaplain, the Exploration of Vocational Mininistry (EVM) program gives students opportunity to explore their interest in, call to, and fitness for professional ministry in a variety of fields. EVM's projects and activities offer many opportunities for engaged learning and act as a complement to formal classroom instruction.
First year EVM students participate in an orientation group, which meets weekly for discussion about ministry, Bible study, and observation of ministry internship sites. These students also plan and lead the Sunday evening (5:00 pm) university worship services. Any student accepted into this competitive program is eligible for the EVM scholarship.
All EVM students meet weekly for fellowship and discussion of various dimensions of ministry. EVM students confer with the chaplains each spring term to evaluate their participation in the program and to plan a ministry internship for the coming year. Incoming freshmen or other students interested in the EVM program should contact the Chaplain's office or download the application under the documents link.
