Chaplaincy

Untitled document

In your pilgrimage toward spiritual maturity, the chapel and its related ministries strive to enhance your vision. How you look at life, what you are doing, and where you are going are of great importance.

The chaplains, campus ministers, and religious organizations offer support to keep your life in perspective. Their resources will help you integrate the intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual dimensions of life. The university chaplains and their colleagues in campus ministry will help you discover direction for your journey and provide community along the way.

Perhaps one of the greatest attributes of Furman University is the growing diversity of its student body and faculty. The many religious organizations provide students with opportunities for worship, fellowship, and faith formation. These groups encourage students to mature in their journey, to remember and reflect on their religious heritage, and to take part in organizing programs that enable them to practice the moral and spiritual aspects of their faith.

The office of the University Chaplain, located in Daniel Memorial Chapel, serves as the headquarters of religious life at Furman and promotes an atmosphere of openness and interfaith dialogue. The Office of the University Chaplain responds to the spiritual needs of students, faculty, and staff and includes both chaplains and campus ministers who are available for pastoral counseling.
