The Office of the Chaplain at Furman, along with a vibrant university community, encourages mature faith formation and the pursuit of meaning through spiritual reflection and free inquiry, provides numerous opportunities to participate in religious life, advances mutual understanding and respect among differing traditions, and active engagement in building a just, loving, and peaceful world.

The many religious organizations active at Furman provide students with opportunities for worship, fellowship, and faith formation. These groups encourage students to mature in their journey, to remember and reflect on their religious heritage, and to take part in programs that enable them to practice the moral and spiritual aspects of faith.
The Office of the University Chaplain responds to the spiritual needs of students, faculty, and staff and includes both chaplains and campus ministers who are available for pastoral counseling. |
