THE RICHARD W. RILEY INSTITUTE FOR TEACHERS OF GOVERNMENT - July 9-14. The objective of this institute is to provide secondary teachers of government, social studies and/or civics the opportunity to participate in an intensive two week program which will inform them of current events and major issues in politics. Participants will spend one week participating in courses taught by political science professors from Furman University. The second week will be spent in Washington, D.C. where participants will tour relevant sights, attend lectures and visit with political leaders. The only program of its type in the state, the Suzuki Institute offers an opportunity for students, parents and teachers to observe, study and improve their knowledge and skills of the Suzuki String Method. PASTOR'S SCHOOL - July 30 - Aug 3. An experience in continuing theological education for ministers and lay people sponsored by the Office of the Chaplains at Furman University. The daily schedule begins with dinner at 5:00 pm on Monday and concludes at noon on Friday.
