"Pa Pa Chop" is a retired educator of 32 years. In those 32 years he taught mathematics, coached his school basketball for 15 years, and was a high school Principal for 7 years before retiring. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Claflin College and a Master's Degree Master's plus 30 from Furman University and Clemson University. Mr. Choplin has been an active part of Bridges for 3 years. He enjoys working with young people, loves to read, watch sports, and have leisure time with his family. He as been married for 33 years and has two grown children. Mr. Choplin serves as Faculty Coordinator.

Mrs. King taught Math at Bridges this summer (Mrs. Mozie, the other math teacher, had a baby!) Mrs. King had the students doing many hands on activities, as well as going over the basics of Algebra.

Cathy Grills

Mrs. Grills helped in the English classroom this year at Bridges. She and Mr. Grills have been involved with the program almost since its inception.

Mr. Grills has 32 years of experience teaching in the Greenville County Schools, Greenville Technical College and Furman University. He is an artist, art teacher, art historian, and a living American Civil War historian. He has two degrees from Furman University and his is married with two grown daughters. Mr. Grills has taught in the Bridges program since 1998.

Mr. Turgeon teaches Social Studies in Bridges with Mr. Martin.

Mr. Martin teaches Social Studies at Bridges, and he was the Teacher of the Year in 2005!

Mrs. Duggan was born and raised in South Carolina. She attended Winthrop College for her Bachelor of Arts in English and Clemson University for her Master of Education degree. Having taught English and Journalism in the public schools for 30 years, she now enjoys reading, traveling, gardening, outdoor adventuring and Bridges, where she is in her third year of teaching English and publications.

Ms. Turza teaches science at Bridges. Last year the science class learned about rockets and car physics, and this year they studied forensics!

Bernard Frost

Mr. Frost teaches College Planning at Bridges, and he was this year's Teacher of the Year!
