Favorite activity in Greenville:
Exploring downtown—Falls Park, Saturday Market is so fun. I also love going apple picking at Sky Top Orchard about 30 minutes north of Greenville—that's my favorite fall activity for sure! (and did I mention the apple donuts?—YUM! )
Favorite Greenville restaurant:
Sassafras Southern Bistro
Favorite Furman tradition:
I love that Homecoming is such a big deal at Furman! It's always so fun to reconnect with old friends.
Best thing about Furman:
It's truly the total package: personal and familiar but not too small with a warm and friendly community, 100% residential, Division 1 athletics, beautiful campus but so close to Greenville, a fabulous city--what's not to love?
Traveling, cooking, fishing, being close to ANY water (lake, beach), college football, doing ANYTHING with my husband and kids! I love canning, cross-stitching, playing cards, and I prefer heirloom things over anything new--I am an old soul!
Most frequently asked question and answer:
What has kept you working at Furman for so long? The people. Hands down, being able to work with people that inspire you, motivate you, and are just great to work with make it all worthwhile.
Best piece of advice for prospective students:
Enjoy every minute of high school and look forward to an even more amazing experience in college! It's all about finding the right fit. There is not a perfect college, but there is definitely a perfect fit for you! Take the time to explore and "try us on for size!" You are finding a new home for four years and want to make sure it is a perfect fit for you--academically, socially, culturally, the campus, the people, the community, the surrounding area. Visit schools MULTIPLE times--each time you are on campus, you will connect with different parts of the community which helps tremendously in making your college decision!
Random/fun fact about me:
I have three children under age six and a Yellow Lab puppy---never a dull moment at our house, and I love every second of it!
