Peggy Batchelor joined Furman in 1992, having taught previously in the Computer Science and Information Technology departments at California Polytechnic University - Pomona, CA, California State University at Los Angeles - Los Angeles, CA, and Clemson University, - Clemson, SC.
In addition to teaching in the UES program at Furman University, she also teaches classes in both the Computer Science and Business Administration departments at Furman. For the last 15 years she has also been on the faculty of Furman University’s Institute for the Management of Information Technology where she conducts seminars in systems analysis and design, project management, and database design. Her areas of interest are management information systems and data analytics.
Professor Batchelor has over 25 years’ experience as a systems analyst, software engineer and project manager in aerospace and manufacturing firms including Xerox Corporation and Teradata Corporation.
Peggy lives in the mountains of North Carolina where she is an avid hiker and kayaker. She and her husband spend a few months each winter in South West Florida where they enjoy just relaxing and she peruses her love of free diving.
In 2016, Peggy was awarded UES faculty member of the year for her teaching excellence and years of service in support of Undergraduate Evening Studies.
