NIH-INBRE Faculty Fellow Summer Research Grants (2016-2020)

Through a competitive renewal process, Furman University will again receive funding from the National Institutes of Health within the IDeA Network for Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) program. This NIH-INBRE award (INBRE 3; 2015-2020) will provide a total of 5 (five) NIH INBRE Faculty Fellow awards each summer (2016-2020) with each award including the following components:

  1. $6,000 summer research stipend for the faculty mentor
  2. $4,500 in summer salary for each undergraduate research student
  3. $2,000 in research supplies support for each undergraduate research student

Any faculty member is eligible to apply, provided their research efforts are in the general domain of biomedical science and amenable to potential NIH or NSF funding. Applicants will submit a 4-page Proposal Narrative (in addition to budget, submission plan and NIH Biographical Sketch).

Proposals must be submitted electronically to the Office of Integrative Research in the Sciences by Friday January 17, 2017, with funding decisions anticipated by March 1, 2017.
