Started in Fall 2008, the Furman STEM Mentors program provides a structure for Furman science majors to connect with teacher-selected middle school students whose “potential is outweighed by circumstance”. Get involved with our mentor program.
Since 2011, Furman has been coordinating a program that enables teachers to access handheld, digital microscope for use in their classroom. Learn more.
Linking two nationally distinguished campus efforts, Furman’s summer research programs and Bridges to a Brighter Future, has proven to be a great success and to date, over 30 BBF students have participated. Read more.
For the fifth consecutive year, up to 8 students enrolled in the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics will have the opportunity to complete their mandatory 6-week research experiences through a residential program at Furman University. Learn how to be one of them.
This program [funded through our Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) grant 2008-2012] provided middle and high school STEM teachers an intensive 6-week research experience (~40 hours/week) under the direction of a Furman math or science faculty mentor. Read more. click here for application to RET
