Major Requirements Health Sciences Furman University

Furman Health Sciences majors must seek advice from a faculty member and declare their major with the department chair. Majors may pursue either a B.A. or B.S. degree.

Bachelor of Arts

A Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Sciences must include:

  • HSC-101, 201, and 210
  • Two of the following courses: HSC-211, 221, 311, or 323
  • Two or more courses from: 301, 302, 303, or 304
  • At least four additional HSC courses numbered 211 or greater.

Bachelor of Science

Students seeking the Bachelor of Science degree must also complete:

  • MTH-141 or 150
  • At least two more courses from: BIO-111, 221, 322, CHM-110, 115, 120, 210, EES-110, 112, 113, PHY-111, 112, PSY-320 or SUS-120.
