Dr. Elizabeth Holt is an epidemiologist with a background in environmental public health and preventive health. She focuses on the prevention and management of chronic disease, specifically asthma and cardiovascular disease. As a researcher, she has investigated social and environmental factors associated with asthma among children living in urban areas. More recently her work has been focused in the health care setting. She currently examines factors impacting clinical outcomes and quality of life among patients with chronic disease.
Dr. Holt holds a strong commitment to research and education surrounding current issues in environmental and public health. Her academic and teaching interests have been influenced by her time researching environmental and health outcomes in post-Katrina New Orleans as well has her service with Teach for America in New Mexico and New Orleans, LA. Dr. Holt is a Greenville native, and in her down time she enjoys exploring the beautiful mountains and waterways of the SC upstate with her family.
