At Furman, we take a comprehensive and holistic approach to educating future teachers. As a freshman, you’ll study the historical, sociological, and philosophical foundations of education, as well as human growth and development with applications for parenting and teacher education. You’ll also enjoy off-campus fieldwork at local public schools. During your senior year, you’ll be back in a local classroom, applying what you’ve learned with the help of Furman faculty and the mentorship of a master teacher.
