Bob Chance is a potter and has been teaching in the Art Department at Furman University for 26 years. He has been making and exhibiting work for longer than he cares to admit and has had work in national and international exhibitions. These exhibits include 100 Years/100 Artists at the South Carolina State Museum, Rome Exhibit USA: Portrait of the South at Palazzo Venezia in Rome, Italy, and numerous solo exhibits.
He has traveled to Japan and China to look at pottery villages, pots and kilns and to meet potters there. Recently he spent a summer in Cortona, Italy teaching ceramics, examining Etruscan, Greek and Roman pots and making pottery with local clay, kilns and glazes.
