We offer majors in computer science and information technology. We also participate in an interdisciplinary major, computing and applied mathematics. You may choose to double major with any two of these programs of study, provided all choices for upper-level electives are unique. Consult the department chair if you’re interested in any of these majors.
Computer science major
To earn a degree in computer science, you must have at least a 2.00 grade point average for all computer science courses and all other courses enrolled that satisfy major requirements.
A major must include:
- CSC-105, 121, 122, 231, 261, 361 and 461,
- CSC-475 or 502,
- one additional math course from the following: MTH-120, 151, or 160,
- at least three more courses from the following, only one of which may be in mathematics: CSC-331, 332, 341, 342, 343, 344, 345, 346, 347, 351, 352, 353, 363, 475, or 502; MTH-320, 335, 340, 360, or 460, and
- at least two more science courses appropriate for a major in the respective discipline: BIO-111, CHM-110, 115, 120, EES-115, 112, 113, PHY-111, 112, PSY-320, or SUS-120
