Greetings from the Furman University Office of Multicultural Affairs. Thank you for bringing your unique talents and gifts to Furman. As Director of Multicultural Affairs, I serve as your advocate, supporter and advisor in social and academic matters. I am eager to get to know you and help ensure that you have the most positive experience possible at Furman.

One of the programs we have in place to ease your transition from high school to college is the Legacies Peer Mentor Program. You will be assigned an upperclassman as a mentor. These mentors will spend time with you and offer knowledge and insight into Furman life. In addition, there will be an opportunity to participate in monthly social activities with other Multicultural freshmen as well as programs to ensure your academic success.

Assignments will be made in early July and your mentor will contact you by phone or e-mail in late July. On September 8, 2013, we will have a special event where you will be formally introduced to your mentor.
