Federal Express

Federal Express is a private shipping company which guarantees overnight delivery service.  Fed Ex is NOT associated with the United States Postal Service and cannot deliver to a post office box.  Packages may weigh up to 150 pounds and may not exceed 119 inches in length and 165 inches in length and girth combined.  Business-related shipments are charged to your cost center.  Personal packages must be paid for in cash or by check made payable to Furman University.  All Fed Ex shipments must be received in Mail Services by 4:00 pm.  Rates are determined by the level of service required, destination, and weight.

Deliveries to residential or remote addresses might or might not qualify for the guaranteed times shown below.  To verify delivery options, call 1-800-238-5355.  Have your destination zip code available. When prompted, ask for Customer Service.  You might have to ask for Customer Service multiple times until the automated voice prompt routes you to a live person.   The service rep can tell you an expected delivery time based on the zip code and level of service.
  • Priority Overnight – guarantees 10:30 a.m. next morning delivery to MOST domestic locations.  If mailed on Friday, normal Priority Overnight delivery service is Monday.   Saturday delivery adds a significant surcharge to your shipping cost.
  • Standard Overnight – guarantees 3:00 p.m. next business afternoon to MOST domestic locations.
  • Economy Two-Day – guarantees 4:30 p.m. second business afternoon to MOST domestic locations.
If a residential location does not qualify for the above guaranteed times, they generally are delivered by 7:00 p.m. either next day or two-day – depending on the service level you choose.

International Priority – guarantees 1-3 day delivery to 175 countries.  Again, you can verify delivery time by calling Fed Ex Customer Service.  Remote locations could require an extra day for delivery.
