Furman University’s Office of Risk Management strives to make every effort to protect the health and safety of members of the campus community and the public. It is the responsibility of all members of our community to identify, analyze and control the risk of loss. We encourage employee involvement in reporting hazards and unsafe conditions. All employees should report these conditions to their supervisor, who will take prompt and appropriate action to determine if a hazard exists and to correct the hazard. In addition, employees can report unsafe conditions to the Risk Management Office. Our primary duties include insurance, safety and health inspections and training, hazardous waste, laboratory safety, fire and life safety, indoor air quality issues and ergonomic surveys.
