The freshman class that arrives in September may be the university's finest to date. It will be the most selective, most diverse and, on paper, the strongest group academically to enroll at Furman.

 


Farewell to the Queen Mum

On Saturday afternoon, March 30, while I was watching BBC-America, a news flash announced the death of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother - at age 101-plus! The familiar strains of God Save the Queen followed instantly, along with a photograph of the Queen Mum and her personal Standard. I burst into tears.
