Campaign goal increases to $175 million
With the Forever Furman capital campaign ahead
of schedule and mounting fiscal challenges looming, the board of trustees voted
unanimously May 13 to boost the university comprehensive campaign goal from $150 million
to $175 million.

Lockhart to be Commencement speaker
Keith Lockhart, the acclaimed conductor of the Boston Pops,
will be the keynote speaker for Commencement on May 27. Lockhart graduated from
Furman in 1981 with degrees in music and German. |

Public Relations, the site was launched in April. |
| ROTC to dedicate new center, say good-bye to commander May 23 will mark the beginning of a new era for Furmans Army
ROTC program. The military science department will dedicate its own facility, the Bryan
Center for Military Science, in an 11 a.m. ceremony. Cadets will also bid farewell
to its commander, Lt. Col. Thomas Nickerson, during a change of command ceremony. |
